Fuerteventura Airport Information
When holidaying to
anywhere in the world it is always nice to have an idea of what the
local airport can offer.
On this page you can
see information that may assist you in booking your holiday such as the
Fuerteventura
Airport Arrivals and
Fuerteventura
Airport Departures. It will assist in finding out what actual
airlines fly to Fuerteventura.
We have provided a few
photographs of the actual airport to give you a feel of where you will
be arriving.
At the moment
Fuerteventura is having another airport terminal being built to
hopefully make your arrival even smother. It is not producing any
disruptions to activities at the Airport at the moment and should be
completed 2009 / 2010.

Arrivals
When you arrive on the
runway and taxi to your disembarking point it normally takes around 30
minutes (from leaving your plane) to exiting the airport. This includes
clearing immigration and customs plus collecting your cases. If
you are a light traveller and do not have to collect cases then it
normally takes no more than 15 minutes.
Hiring a car at the
Airport
If you are hiring a car
at the airport it is a good idea to ensure before you book with a
company that has an office in the airport. If this is so, then you will
be able to complete all the relevant paperwork while waiting for your
cases. If you have booked with a low budget hire car company then you
may have to meet your Rep outside of the arrivals hall and this may take
extra time to collect your car.
Fuerteventura Departure
Lounge
At the end of the day everyone that has a great
holiday mostly "cringe" when it is time to return! Fuerteventura
is a relatively easy airport to depart. It consists of a wait to check
your bags in (the time waiting will depend on where you arrive in the
queue but it can vary from 2 minutes to about 30 minutes!).
Once the bags are
checked in it is off to security for a check and then an escalator ride
to the second floor (there is a lift for those that are in a wheel
chair). Once upstairs it is an open and airy feel with a few shops and
eateries for those with the last minute munchies. There is also 2 open
air terraces to catch the last few sun rays before the homeward flight.
Duty Free is also available to purchase but please note that
Fuerteventura being Duty Free it is often cheaper to purchase in your
resort than at the airport. I have certainly noticed prices
cheaper for booze, cigarettes and perfume in Corralejo than there are in
the Airport. |
